What gives strength to parents who offer it to children with difficult histories?
When foster parents come together, something deeper happens than just conversation. These moments bring strength—the strength to keep loving, to face everyday challenges, and to believe that their work truly matters. That’s exactly what we witnessed during our weekend retreat, held April 4–6 at the “Radość” Center, where eight foster parent couples gathered to catch their breath, share experiences, and simply be together.
We began with dinner, heartfelt testimonies, prayer, and conversations over apple pie with ice cream. On Saturday, participants took part in workshops led by Mina and Gennady Podgaisky, who helped everyone better understand the struggles faced by children without families. The afternoon brought rest for both body and soul—walks, a theater visit, a museum trip, and shared meals.
Justyna and Wojtek, foster parents to six children, shared:
We came to the retreat at a difficult, crisis-filled moment... During the sessions, we received many answers and much inspiration. We saw God’s hand in it—His guidance and care—encouraging us not to back away from the hard things we’re facing. This weekend was a clear sign for me that we’re not alone in our parenting challenges.
Through shared prayer, conversation, and time together, a sense of trust and understanding grew—something often missing in their daily lives.
Viktor, another foster parent, wrote:
We thank God for such a wonderful gathering. It was so good to meet new people and be together. We’re grateful to everyone—just to be together was a gift.
Events like this have lasting impact—they are an investment in healthy relationships, in community, and in the kind of strength that makes a difference. Strong parents mean hopeful children.
We’re deeply thankful to all our Donors for making this time possible. Let’s keep praying for endurance and peace for those who offer children not just a house, but a home filled with love.
