Earlier this year, we shared about the Project Leader, part of the New Roots program, which aims to support leaders of Ukrainian communities in Poland.
The goal of the project is to relieve them from the need to take on additional jobs so they can fully focus on serving the communities they faithfully lead.
This project currently supports several Ukrainian community leaders actively involved in ministry.
One of them is Oleksii, who, after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, arrived in Szczecin with his wife and three children. He immediately got involved in ministry and began leading a Bible study group. Over time, this work grew and is now developing toward becoming an independent church. 💒
In his most recent report, Oleksii wrote:
“I am happy to share that God is blessing our community, and we continue to grow. Our group now has 36 members, and around 50 people attend Sunday services on average. The brothers and sisters have entrusted me with the role of the community leader, and two other brothers serve as leaders as well. We have three home Bible study groups that meet during the week. The Lord has blessed us with ministries such as Sunday School, women’s ministry, and a youth group. We also teach young brothers to preach God’s Word. We provide support for orphans and plan to expand this work and organize a children’s camp.”
🙌 It’s a great joy to see another Christian community being formed in Szczecin! The group is now praying and looking for a suitable place to gather and continue to grow.🙏 Please join us in prayer for Oleksii, his family, and the whole community.
