The Church Is a Place for Everyone! ⛪️🤝
However, it is important to intentionally create an environment where people with special needs are seen, welcomed, and cared for.
The Ukrainian Baptist Church in Warsaw (Біблійна Церква в Варшаві, Grzybowska 32) has created such a space for people with disabilities and their families. 👨👩👧👦💙 Church members who understand their needs through personal experience took the initiative to organize a safe and welcoming place where people could meet, connect, share their experiences, and support one another. 💬
As another expression of care, participants received gift packages during a specially organized gathering. These packages were prepared with our support through the New Roots program. 🛍️
This is a new initiative for the church. Pastor Valeriy shared more about the idea and the next steps:
"For most participants, this was their first close encounter with the Church and Christian ministry. We wanted to tell them that God loves them and that, because we love God, we are ready to serve them and respond to their needs.
We are already seeing the first fruits of this gathering. One of the participants, a mother raising a son with cerebral palsy, mentioned that they would soon be moving. They had no one to turn to for help with transportation, so our church stepped in to meet that need.
We have also created a group chat so that those interested can stay connected with us, receive support, and learn about future gatherings and opportunities for assistance."
We are grateful to the Ukrainian Baptist Church in Warsaw for its openness, compassion, and partnership. We also thank all our donors, whose generosity makes it possible for us to support initiatives like this one! 💛🌱
