Just like the birth of a child 👶, welcoming a child into a foster family also comes with many expenses involved in preparing a place for them, and often for siblings as well 👧🧒
Through the “New Beginning” project, we support foster and adoptive families during the first weeks after children arrive in their homes. Often, children come with just one bag and without basic belongings.
We provide support for furnishing a child’s room, as well as clothes, shoes, hygiene products, bedding, and school supplies. It is a bit like creating a new place from the beginning, so that it can become a home as quickly as possible.
This practical support is important because foster and adoptive families carry a tremendous responsibility for children who have experienced loss, trauma, and a lack of safety. It is not only about opening their home, but also stepping into a child’s story, which is often difficult and complex. Every day, parents invest enormous energy into building relationships from the ground up, attending specialist appointments, and going through diagnostic processes.
It is thanks to our donors that we are able to support families in moments like these. Thank you for every gift given to support “Irreplaceable Families”! 🤝
