"New Roots" of the Young Generation

Updated: Aug 22, 2025

This summer we see how the young generation is putting down New Roots!

We visited several places where children and teenagers from Ukrainian churches in Poland could build friendships, grow in faith, and simply rest. More than 1,500 young people took part in day camps and summer camps supported through the “New Roots” program – made possible thanks to your financial support and the commitment of local churches.

Meet a few of the participants:

Matfij, 17, from Warsaw. He is a youth group leader in his church, where 30–40 teenagers gather every week. He shares passionately: “At the camp in Barycz, which we organized with our youth group, most of the 35 participants were from outside the church. They just came to rest, but during those days something opened in them, and they began to talk about God.”

The youth club he leads has become a natural continuation of the camp – a place where young people keep growing, and the fruit is already visible.

Sasha, 10, from Jelcz. Although he traveled 15 km every day, he eagerly joined the day camp organized by the Ukrainian Center in Jelcz-Laskowice together with the First Baptist Church in Wrocław.

He heard about the camp from a neighbor. What he enjoyed most were the handicraft activities and making new friends.

“God loves people and wants good things for them,” Sasha says. That’s why he prays for an end to the war in Ukraine and for peace in the world.

Milena, 9, from Kraków. She and her mother come from Donbas. She joined the day camp organized by the local Ukrainian-speaking church in partnership with OM Poland.

She says that during camp she learned that God loves people so much that He gave His Son to save them. The activities also taught her not to give up when something doesn’t work out.

Every night before bed, she prays for health, forgiveness of sins, and good dreams – because before, nightmares used to haunt her.

These are just three stories among many that happen thanks to your support.💚

Thank you for helping us nurture New Roots together!
